Welcome to the Twin Peaks Playset Plan, an imaginative "dueling" playhouse design that offers two fun options. The standard plan features a single two level tower with a charming gable roof, perfect for solo adventurers or smaller backyards. For even more fun, upgrade to the deluxe version, which includes two towers connected by a second-level bridge that's ideal for siblings or friends who want their own kingdoms with a secret passage in between.

Every version encourages creativity and active play. Each tower has open bays and numerous windows, allowing sunlight and fresh air to flood the space. The bridge between towers doubles as a swing hanging spot underneath, and the side decks are perfect for adding accessories like slides, climbing ropes, rock walls, or cargo nets. This thoughtful layout is easy to build and highly customizable, making it a backyard playset that brings architecture, adventure, and endless fun together in one delightful package.

Features:

  • One (Standard) or two (Deluxe) play towers with two levels each with a total of 96ft² (Standard) or 225ft² (Deluxe) in usable space

Quality design, and a rewarding experience.

Midway through 2024, my wife and I started talking about building a playhouse for our kids. We wanted something sturdy and long-lasting—big enough for us to play alongside them and create lasting memories. I’m really glad I found Paul’s Playhouses because the Twin Peaks design was exactly what we were looking for.

So far, I’ve only built half of the structure, as shown in the photos, but I designed it in a way that allows for easy expansion in the future. By adding two more beams for the bridge and cutting out the opening, I can complete the second tower whenever we're ready.

I also made a few modifications to the original plans to better suit our needs. I raised the wall height of each floor by one foot to prevent adults from bumping their heads, widened the overall structure by two feet for extra interior space, and built a chicken-ladder-style staircase with a midway platform and a half-wall at the top to make climbing safer for younger kids. Since we live in a hurricane-prone area, I opted for a 4-inch concrete slab reinforced with #5 rebar as the base, securing the frame with expansion anchors to add weight and stability to the structure.

The entire build took me about six months, working on it every other weekend. It was a really fun and rewarding experience, but the best part was when my daughter looked at me and said, "Daddy, you're the greatest," as I was cutting the last few pieces of trim. That moment made all the effort worth it.

Thanks for the fantastic plans, Paul!

For the kids!

I built the Twin Peaks design during the summer of 2020. These plans are well thought out and extremely structurally solid. These sets easily accommodate a 200 pound man without flinching. My kids love the set; the two kids each have their own “tower” that they have dominion over! Can’t say enough good about the quality of these plans. Show your kids the awesome effect of sweat equity and the amazing results you can achieve!

Great Design & Instructions

When I purchased this set of plans it was everything I could have imagined. I was able to print the material list, send it to multiple lumber yards and got quotes on all the lumber in minutes. The step by step instructions include detail diagrams, cut-lengths with quantities for each step so you can prep and pre-cut your lumber for the entire step before assembling. I definitely am recommending Paul's Playhouses to all our friends and family and would build another again with Paul's plans in a heart beat!
